Digital Painting Wisdom
My final project for digital Imaging II is to create a digital painting. In the class if you do not have the skills for digital painting you are encouraged to do free online tutorials. But this book teaches you how to develop your digital painting skills beyond free digital painting tutorials and apply the most up to date techniques on a digital canvas. I wish my prof had shared these techniques with us instead of free online tutorials.

Digital Painting

Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer.
The Assignment:
Create an original digital painting. This needs to be an 11x17 poster, printed and mounted on the last day of class.
My Digital Painting:
I am going to do an underwater scene for my painting. Here is my mood board.
I started with a line drawing, I created a simple sketch from coloring pages to make it easier to follow along. I put my sketch on the topmost layer so that I could switch it on or off as I draw, and I could always see it superimposed on my painting.
