AS 3.0

This is my first assignment for Inter authoring. Not very fancy! The assignment was to make something that changed using only one frame and actionscript 3.0. When you click on the button the colors change. I also had to add everything to the stage using only AS 3.0.

Schedule for my next quarter:

Concepts in Motion Design
An introduction to motion design, concepts and techniques. Students create interactive motion using basic principles of design for timeline-based media.

Inter. Authoring
This course will build on the skills taught in the Introduction to Authoring class. Students will design production-quality interactive presentations using intermediate-level scripting techniques focusing on good user interface design and usability.

Graphic Symbolism
This course examines the simplification
and abstraction of images. Logotypes and symbols are examined in historic and contemporary contexts.

Audio for Interactive Design
This course looks at the principles and practices of digital audio in an interactive design setting. Students learn to use current digital audio programs for recording, editing, sequencing, and mixing for a variety of outputs and applications.

On My Own

My best friend Claudia writes stories about her dog Sandy. I am putting them together and creating illustrations for the pages. I hope to have this finished and made into a book for her for Mother's Day. She has always been like a second Mom to my daughter Micaela.

Winter 2011

“It is better to bind your children to you by a feeling of respect and by gentleness, than by fear.” - Terence

Due to family issues I did not post anything for the winter quarter. Just keeping my head above water was all I could manage! Time to bring happiness, harmony and joy back into my family!

Happiness is yours if you are willing to work for it. You must strive for balance and harmony in your life. Always look for solutions rather than dwell on problems. For happiness to last, it must be founded on truth and honesty. Hide from the truth and you hide from true happiness. Seek only what is good and right, and good fortune cannot fail to follow.

“Bitter are the tears of a child: Sweeten them. Deep are the thoughts of a child: Quiet them. Sharp is the grief of a child: Take it from him. Soft is the heart of a child: Do not harden it.” -Pamela Glenconner

Final 2 of 2 Poster

The assignment is a "cause" that we want to promote. The cause can be something serious or something light hearted but the message has to be clear. We have to create 2 posters. Aesthically the posters have to work together as a pair. They also need to touch on different aspects of the cause.

I wanted to use one of my twirl art photos for this project. I thought it looked a little like blood so I decided that my cause would be donating to an animal blood bank.

My two angles--advertising the availability of the blood AND encouraging owners to donate.

Here are some of my twirl art pictures I thought of using for this poster:

I decided that my cause would be donating to an animal blood bank. I decided to name my cause TABBI. I wanted to use an acronym. First I thought the letters ABB had to be in the name for animal blood bank then I brainstormed for pet names that included ABB. I decided on TABBI. My logo is in reds. A subtle red gradient is on the lettering. Over the I in TABBI is a heart with a drop shadow to make the logo look less flat. The only fonts that I used for the project are Rockwell and Rockwell extra bold.
