Final- Interactive Map

Our final project for Interactive Motion Graphics is to make an interactive map with videos.
Some of the ideas I have had are:
  • Doing a portfolio site for a teacher and having a bookshlf with books on it. When you click on a book a cliff notes version of the book plays.
  • A map showing large dog friendly  apartment complexes in Austin. Maybe add to website I could build for a Ridgeback Club to put on my website.
  • Back of bar when you click on a bottle of alcohol a video plays about that alcohol. Or I could do glasses with drinks in them and  a video plays showing how to make that drink. Everyone makes websites about alcoholic drinks.
  • I could make a site for a real estate agent with a featured property page that would have a floor plan you click on it and video of the room plays.
  • A map of Texas with small towns and you can click on them to see a video of that town. I guess this could be a day trip travel site or a story of Texas site.
  • Floorplan of a preschool. Videos could be about how to set up a classroom.
  • A cupcake website clicking on cupcakes brings up the recipe.
In the end I decided to do a map of back road cafes in Texas.

Examples of interactive maps

  • This tutorial will teach you how to create an interactive map in which a map marker flies over to the city highlighted and will show a small photograph of that city.
  • Information about wineries. I like the intro on this map.
  • How to make a very useful and widely used element: an interactive map. Whether it be a country map, like the case is here, or an anatomical map of human body, city plan, an engine schema, etc.,
  • Inspiration from an e learning site.
